My most basic service relates to tracing the careers of mariners in British service. This covers the Royal Navy from c.1793 and its reserves as of their introductions to c.1918; the Merchant Service from c. 1835 to c.1972; and those involved in India, whether of the 'Honourable' East India Company, or the various naval local-defence forces, from the 18th century through to 1947.

Leeds Bronze Engineering was formed in 1974 as a specialist producer of bronze bearings and bushes. Over the years we have continued to grow, and are now the UK's largest manufacturer of bronze bearings and bushes.
Our expertise in this field is also backed by our stockholding facility. Our Leeds site holds the largest UK stock of copper based alloys. These are predominately bronze alloys to European specifications, and cover the full range of bronze alloys, including leaded bronze, phosphor bronze, aluminium bronze and other bronze parts.

Le Tonkinois Varnish is made in the traditional way, using Linseed Oil, Tung Oil and natural resins. It sinks deep into the timber, feeding the wood and bringing out all the natural colours. Le Tonkinois has a very high resistance to UV. It is 100% waterproof and remains flexible, so will never crack or peel. Because it is oil based, it is suitable for use on all materials, including oily wood like teak and iroko. Unlike most modern varnishes, it contains no solvents, therefore it is slower drying, allowing all the brush marks to disappear.
