Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre
The Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre is at 36 Eastborough, Scarborough (open Wednesday to Sunday 11am till 4pm, entrance is free). A small changing exhibition area is complimented by an archive of documents, maps, photographs and artefacts about Scarborough and the Yorkshire coast's maritime history.

North East Maritime Trust
The coast of the North East of England from Berwick in the north to Whitby and beyond in the south, has an extremely rich maritime, historic and cultural heritage. The Trust was formed to make a positive contribution to the renewal of interest in traditional seagoing activities in the region. The main emphasis is on the care, maintenance, restoration and reconstruction of wooden vessels.

HELM (Historic Environment Local Management)
HELM (Historic Environment Local Management) provides accessible information and guidance to decision makers in local authorities, regional agencies and national organisations whose actions affect the historic environment. The HELM programme was set up by English Heritage in 2004 with the aim of working with key partners to provide the tools to manage change in the historic environment with increased skill and confidence. Now under the Historic England umbrella.

The LGA is the national voice for local government. We work with and for councils to achieve the best possible outcomes for its communities at all levels of government and beyond. The LGA is a voluntary membership body and our 422 member authorities cover every part of England and Wales. They include county councils, metropolitan district councils, English unitary authorities, London boroughs and shire district councils, along with fire authorities, police authorities, national park authorities and passenger transport authorities. The 22 Welsh unitary authorities are in corporate membership
