Cory Yachts have been building boats since 1966; from racing dinghies to cruising motorboats, every boat is built with craftsmanship and passion. Brian Cory built himself an Enterprise in 1957, this was the beginning of his passion for boat building. He turned his passion into a business in 1966. Brian's career has included fitting out fishing boats which he has watched launch off the shingle shores of Deal for decades, and more recently he has overseen the launching of a bespoke Kent 35. We've all been there: you tug the light pull-cord and the knob comes off in your hand! It was this mishap in 1963 that triggered off the thought that there must be a better way of attaching a knob to a light pull rather than threading the cord through a hole and tying a knot. With the problem established, the solution soon followed. The invention resulted in two pieces of acrylic with angled ridges. Glued together, these formed the first of our cleats - grip proportional with load and no moving parts.

Based on Bryher in the Isles of Scilly Bennett Boatyard offers Boat storage for visitors to the islands, including full repair and maintenance services, as well as delivery & service around the islands. We also operate a boat and kayak hire service from Bryher and St Martin's bases during the summer months, including small sailing, motor & rowing boats.
