History

LEADER was built in 1957 as a Pilot Vessel by J I Thornycroft at Chiswick. She is of timber construction and was originally fitted with 2 Rolls Royce engines, but will now be fitted with 2 Leyland diesels. She initially worked out of Cowes and later Southampton. A new deck has been fitted and major hull work carried out. A total interior refit and repaint was underway in 2009.

LEADER has been lying in poor condition in Hythe for many years, and is believed to be abandoned.
