Tough Surveys Ltd was set up by John Tough in 2006 to provide pre-purchase boat surveys, condition surveys, insurance surveys and valuations.

John works with boats constructed from wood, steel and glass fibre. John is London based but will travel UK-wide. John has worked in the marine industry since 1991, and has a Diploma in Yacht & Boatyard Management (Southampton Institute of Higher Education) and a Diploma in Small Craft Surveying (Lloyds Maritime Academy).

Yard has barge blocks (grid) for flat bottomed vessels up to 100 feet and repair berths for round bottomed vessels up to 70 feet, as well as hard standing and undercover repair space for vessels ashore. Experienced shipwrights and traditional riggers on site and the yard will bring in other trades when necessary.
