East Midlands Councils is a consultative forum for local government in the East Midlands. It represents the interest of local councils to national government and other organisations and enables local councils to work together on strategic issues.

HELM (Historic Environment Local Management) provides accessible information and guidance to decision makers in local authorities, regional agencies and national organisations whose actions affect the historic environment. The HELM programme was set up by English Heritage in 2004 with the aim of working with key partners to provide the tools to manage change in the historic environment with increased skill and confidence.

The coast of the North East of England from Berwick in the north to Whitby and beyond in the south, has an extremely rich maritime, historic and cultural heritage.

The Trust was formed to make a positive contribution to the renewal of interest in traditional seagoing activities in the region. The main emphasis is on the care, maintenance, restoration and reconstruction of wooden vessels.
