OSD-IMT Ltd

Longitude Engineering is dedicated to providing marine design and analysis services to the marine, offshore renewables and oil & gas, defence and small craft market sectors. Our aim is to provide field operators, installation contractors, vessel owners and others involved in the industry with all the maritime engineering assistance they require to ensure their projects are successful. Naval Architects, primarily designing ships for the offshore industry, however we also design ferries, super-yachts, tugs and work-boats. Orkney Historic Boat Society

We are a registered Scottish Charity SC 044884 founded in 2013. Our vision is to Preserve and Promote Orkney's nautical Heritage. Our projects can be viewed on the above website and on OHBS FaceBook pages. We are about to advertise for a Craft Fellowship in Boatbuilding in partnership with Historic Environment Scotland. Our craft fellow will be funded for 2 years and will attend the 47 week Diploma at International Boatbuilding Training College Lowestoft followed by a year with Ian Richardson - Orkney's last professional boatbuilder. We seek financial assistance as we will be funding the Funding bodies Heritage organisations

The Outboard Shop

The business was launched in 2006 with the aim of selling new outboard engines, as well as outboard servicing, repairs and the provision of outboard parts. Our fully equipped 1,500 square foot workshop and showroom enables us to provide an extensive range of outboard services and related products. Where owners have problems is delivering their engine or boat to our workshop we are happy to travel and provide on-site servicing. If required, we can travel and remove engines for workshop servicing. In short, we aim to provide products and services tailored to the needs of individual boat owners.

Marc's Boats

Provision of the following services: - wooden boat maintenance - repair - restoration - oar and spar making - and the building of new wooden boats using traditional boat building methods. The business is able to provide a travelling workshop facility enabling me to come to your boat and work onsite. Although the office address is listed under the Thames Estuary region I do travel and am able to provide onsite services in most regions of the UK.

Alfred Mylne & Co

Alfred Mylne designs were always admired for their elegance, and this was one reason why many owners came to him for cruisers of every size. He also produced One-Design classes and racing dinghies, launches and some commercial craft. In addition he bought a yacht building yard with his brother Charles and ran this from 1911 until he handed it over to his nephew, Alfred Mylne II in 1946 when he retired. Mylne ran the design office and yacht yard through both World Wars, producing craft for the Royal Navy as well as major components of flying boats for the Royal Naval Air Service.

Headland Archaeology Ltd

Dr. Dan Atkinson is Headland's in-house maritime specialist. Headland offer a wide range of heritage advice in relation to historic vessels; from consultation in the preparation and delivery of conservation and management plans to the research and survey (both traditional and digital) of all manner of historic vessels. In addition, Headland also undertake the assessment, evaluation, excavation and survey of vessel remains located on land, in the inter-tidal zone and underwater. Mark Stockl Boatbuilder

Restoration, repair and new build of traditional timber boats. Recent rebuilds include 'Jubilee' - 27', Ness Sgoth and Vine-24' Fifie. Currently building a new 23' Fifie for a customer from the Isle of Wight.
