Sparkes Yacht Harbour

Sparkes Marina, on the south-east tip of Hayling Island, lies within Chichester Harbour – one of Europe's largest natural harbours. Alan Staley has been restoring and building boats since he left school, with a real passion for his work Alan formed the business 35 years ago, and has always specialized in the repair and restoration of classic or historical vessels. We have carried out major rebuilds on all manner of vessels, some from a working background and others that were built as yachts. In May, Alan won the Craft Skills Award for teaching skills in the work place. The award was presented by H.R.H. Prince Charles at The Glaziers Hall, London. John's Boat Works

Based at Lots Ait Island on the Thames in Brentford, London, John’s Boat Works is a traditional wooden boat builder providing leisure and commercial wooden boat building, repair and restoration work, as well as a comprehensive maintenance service. Our boatyard has tidal dry dock facilities, a slipway, an outdoor hard standing area and a fully equipped large indoor workshop. We have a wood machine shop on site and also a small chandlery able to supply fixtures and fittings at favourable prices. Workshop units/pods are available for short or longer term rent. Each equipped with power, workbench
