History

Built in 1929 by Saunders Roe as the CITY OF NOTTINGHAM ;a 35ft 6 self righter fitted with a single Weyburn AE 6.  Stationed at Hythe, Kent, from 1930 to 1936 and at Clovelly, Devon, from 1936 to 1949. Saved a total of 43 lives. Renamed MARGARET ROSE and DAUNTLESS before reverting to CITY OF NOTTINGHAM.

In 1949, she became the mail service supply vessel travelling Lundy Island, Devon, before becoming a live aboard.  She was purchased by her current owner in 2004, who has restored her to her current condition.  She has now been fitted with a diesel engine, and is still with her traditional blue and white colours.  She is in good condition and any maintenance work has been done like for like to fit in with her original design.

Currently in Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire, where the owner keeps her along with his other lifeboat.
