History

LORD DEVONPORT is a Thames tug, built in 1959 by J. Pollock, Sons & Co. Ltd at Faversham. Her yard number was 2115 and her official number was 300921. She has a sister tug, LORD WAVERLEY, who was built by Pollocks the following year. LORD DEVONPORT’s hull is riveted with one deck and the rise of floor is 305 millimetres. She has a five cylinder engine, built by British Polar Engines Ltd. at Glasgow. Her two generators produce 27 kilowatts each and her fuel bunkers hold 20 tonnes of diesel oil. Her maximum speed is 11.5 knots.
