History

RUFFIAN was built in 1940 for South Metropolitan Gas Board, by J Pollock & Son Ltd, Faversham.  She was used in London for towing coal lighters.  In 1949 she moved to the South Eastern Gas Board and sold in 1950's to W.E.White, where she was re-named GIMPY.

By 1990 she was known as RUFFIAN and bought by K.B.Mason Marine at Newark on Trent for work on the Trent.   She was later sold  to become a houseboat.

Purchased by current owner in 2022 for restoration at Newark.
