History

PRIMROSE is a tug built in 1906 by Robert Cock & Sons Limited, Appledore, for service on the Gloucester Ship Canal. She was rebuilt and converted to diesel in 1960; her current engine is a 261 kw geared model by Rushton & Hornsby Limited, Lincoln. The original owners were The Sharpness New Docks & Gloucester and Birmingham Navigation Company of Gloucester and she was sold to Peter Millward Herbert in 1981.

Her next change of ownership was to the Isle of Man in 1985 and then to Tyne based owners in 1989.

In 2007, PRIMROSE was up for sale, but still working.

Vessel reported scrapped, January 2015.
