History

Built in 1951 by Werf Voorwaarts-theun Van Den Beldt, SIR HENDRIK has spent the majority of her working life in the Netherlands, being based out of Sas Van Gent. Her original company is still active there and are currently on HENDRIK 9. In 1988 she was delivered from the Netherlands to Carolcraft Ltd, Chatham.

In 2012, SIR HENDRIK was purchased by her current owner, Hart Marine Services. She operates throughout the Thames and adjoining rivers and creeks, towing barges, houseboats, yachts and a fair share of other historic vessels, most recently (May 2024) towing the Thames Sailing Barge WILFRED.
