We’re looking for a Social Media Volunteer!
Are you passionate about storytelling, social media, and connecting communities? Join the Canal & River Trust as a Social Media Volunteer and help showcase the incredible work happening at Ellesmere Yard, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund!
What You’ll Do:
- Capture high-quality photos and videos (in line with brand guidelines) to bring Ellesmere Yard’s story to life on Facebook and Instagram.
- Edit photos and videos to optimise them for social media.
- Respond to comments and messages, fostering a friendly and engaging online community.
- Write engaging posts to share the latest news, updates, and achievements from Ellesmere Yard.
- Schedule posts strategically to maximise reach and engagement.
- Always ensure compliance with GDPR and online safety.

What We’re Looking For:
- Enthusiasm for social media and storytelling.
- Some experience in photography, videography, and editing is a bonus, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and an understanding of how to engage audiences online.
- A commitment of 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months (with potential to expand after April 2026).
Key Dates: Recruitment will take place in March, with a start date of April 2025. This role focuses on harnessing local enthusiasm for Ellesmere Yard, so we’re especially keen to hear from individuals in the area.
