Originally founded as Mechanical Services (Trailers Engineers) Ltd in 1968, the Graham family joined forces with the Badland family in 1977 and even today the company is still a family run business with 2 generations of the Graham family still involved on a day to day basis.

The foundations of this company commenced in 1928 when the late Tom Williams, at the age of 14, started working on Hartlepool’s deep sea trawlers. Tom eventually created a record of 73 years sailing from his home port when in 2001 at the age of 87 he finally retired from the sea.
Kuranda are based in Whaley Bridge close to Bugsworth Basin on the Peak Forest Canal. We have been established since 1990 and are specialists in diesel heating systems, diesel cookers, electrical equipment and systems for the marine and mobile industries, including AC and DC electrical power products and off-grid systems. Specialist products we offer include bow/stern thrusters (electric and hydraulic), DC fridge/freezers, high output alternators and bespoke Power Kit distribution units for AC and DC power.

Over the years we have continued to grow, and are now the UK's largest manufacturer of bronze bearings and bushes. Our expertise in this field is also backed by our stockholding facility. Our Leeds site holds the largest UK stock of copper based alloys. These are predominately bronze alloys to European specifications, and cover the full range of bronze alloys, including leaded bronze, phosphor bronze, aluminium bronze and other bronze parts.
