Mike Clarke is a canal and industrial historian who has also researched the construction of wooden inland and coastal vessels. The 86’ (26.2 m) dry dock is covered by a fully watertight and heated building providing good lighting, single & three phase power and a 1 ton (1016 kg) hoist.
