Wessex Archaeology is the leading provider of coastal and marine archaeological services in the UK, encompassing all forms of investigation from dry land to the Continental Shelf. Our experience encompasses boats and ships, waterfronts, buildings and landscapes associated with the sea and inland waters. We are an ADC-registered diving contractor and can supply fully-equipped teams of specialist divers compliant with the HSE Inland/Inshore ACoP.

We provide a wide range of metric and photographic surveys applicable to boats and ships in all conditions, whether they are vessels in preservation, intertidal hulks or underwater wrecks. We also carry out desk-based research and provide consultancy services, accompanied by high-quality reports and graphics. Wessex Archaeology is a charity with educational objectives, supplying a range of outreach services. We run a learning and access programme for schools and communities called Time Travelling by Water.
