A small maritime school serving the needs of local seafarers. Known locally as "the Nav School". This is the location of Scotland's only sailmaking course. Tutor Mark Shiner also a travels to Scottish heritage projects, working with volunteers and carrying out "community sail builds" or maritime hand skills workshops.

In 2023, Mark trained the sailmaking team at America's Mystic Seaport Museum and in 2025 was awarded the Heritage Crafts Assoc: Scotland and UK Maker of the Year awards for the preservation of traditional sailmaking.
