Nordnorsk Fartøyvernsenter

The Nord-Norsk Fartøyvernsenter or Vessel Preservation Center of Northern Norway (NNFA) is one of 3 national vessel preservation centers. Our primary goal is to preserve and pass on knowledge about restoring, maintaining and running older wooden boats and vessels with a certain historical value.

We restore boats and vessels according to traditional techniques and working methods with antiquarian guidelines. We obtain and maintain knowledge by research, documentation and the training of our craftsmen and apprentices. Our national field includes semi-diesel engines, electrical marine equipment, technical installations and North-Norwegian and Sami boatbuilding traditions.
