Helen Doe is a maritime historian and author with interests not just in the ships but also the men and women who built, owned and sailed them, with an emphasis on social and business history. She is an Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Maritime Historical Studies, University of Exeter which is where she gained her doctorate in Maritime History.

She is a Trustee of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, a Council member of the Society for Nautical Research, a member of the British Commission for Maritime History, a member of the Advisory Council for the SS Great Britain and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts. With extensive research experience, Helen can offer research into many aspects of ship and boat history. This can include the vessel, shipbuilder, investors, owners, trades, masters, men, general business history and can cover most periods.
