Francois Vivier Architecte Naval

I have made design works for many French historical boats, mainly traditional boats of Britanny, from small fishing open boats to coasters 24m long. More than 20 replicas have been built on my plans. I have also been involved in many restoration projects and surveys of traditional wooden boats. Design works include hull forms (from half models, wrecks, pictures, artistries, administration data...), scantlings, and construction drawings, rig and sail plans, detail drawings of fittings, stability and more generally safety assessment according to sailing programme.

Training: naval architect and marine engineer (Ecole Polytechnique, ingenieur du Genie Maritime).
Experience: 30 years in the shipbuilding and shipping industry, co-founder of the French magazine 'Chasse-Maree', co-author of 'Ar Vag', a 5 volume book on South Britanny traditional boats. I started my own business as an independent naval architect in 2003.
