Thomas Brookes and Thomas Adams established a partnership in Birmingham in 1853 to produce ladies’ brooches, pierced metal work for dress ornamentation, buckles, medals and badges. Following the retirement of Thomas Adams in 1890 the company continued to be run by Thomas Brookes and his two sons. In 1920, a limited company was formed bearing the founders’ names.
