History

An Edwardian sailing dinghy built from Mahogany and Oak, copper and bronze fastened with a spruce mast and spars. All fittings are bronze and the centreplate is brass. The rig is a balanced lug with a clipper canvas sail and tanned stitching. She is one of 57 dinghies built by Stirling and Son to yard designs based on original plans, drawings and existing dinghies built prior to 1914.

The details of component shapes and fittings are also period referenced. The dinghy is finished with bright varnish externally and linseed oil internally. The dinghy has sailed around the following UK light houses including a landing on each rock: Longships, Godrevy, Wolf Rock, Eddystone, Lundy North and Lundy South. With a crew of two, she sailed across the English Channel from Start Point to Jersey. The voyage of 120 miles took 37 hours to complete. She is currently based in Plymouth, Devon.
