History
KELLINGLEY is a Tom Pudding Tug, the name given to tug boats on the Aire and Calder Navigation, introduced in 1863 and used until 1985. She was built between 1958 and 1960 by Richard Dunston of Thorne as part of a commission from the British Ministry of Transport for seven tugs. Of these seven, three remain: KELLINGLEY, HATFIELD, and WHELDALE.
KELLINGLEY was used along the Aire and Calder Navigation transporting coal from the open cast collieries of the South Yorkshire Coalfield to the Port of Goole. The vessel still has her original 3-cylinder Lister Blackstone engine.
