History

The A37 was built in 1932 by W J Yarwood & Sons Ltd. in Northwich, Cheshire, as part of a fleet of eight.  A37 and her sister ships were used to carry cargo on the Manchester Ship Canal, between Manchester and Liverpool.  She is the last surviving vessel of her fleet – the last one apart from A37 was destroyed in a bombing during the 2nd World War.

Around 1985, she was converted to a liveaboard, with her last maintenance work in 1999.  In 2022, she was purchased by her previous owner, who began a reconstruction project for A37.  She was put up for sale again in spring 2024.

Update, September 2024: Believed to be under new ownership.
