History

KANGAROO is a Narrow Boat of iron riveted construction with a wooden elm bottom and was built by W J Yarwood of Northwich in 1928. Originally owned and worked by Fellows Morton & Clayton as a carrying craft. Later, as a maintenance craft she was used to assist in the canal companies daily tasks. Finally, in the early 1990s she entered private ownership. Since then the owners spent 10 years restoring her to her original former glory using correct materials and original parts where possible. Having never been converted for pleasure use KANGAROO is a very good example of an original craft of this type and gets used regularly. She still gets loaded with cargo today!
