History
Built in 1902, VICEROY is a river vessel with the capacity for 207 passengers. From 1902 to 1930, she was run by the Portsmouth Steam Launch and Towing Company. In 1930 she was sold to George Wheeler Launches who kept her until 1946. Her original engine was a Gardner 6LX but, under the ownership of George Wheeler, a new diesel engine was installed. From 1965 to 1970, she was owned by Thames Launches who sold her in 1971 to the Jackson Brothers. Catamaran Cruisers took her on in 1981 and kept her until she was sold in 1996 to her present owner who converted her into a luxury houseboat.
