WHALE II was built as a Steam Pinnace, it is thought in 1912. She is a vessel of iron riveted construction and her present engine is a Perkins diesel. The previous owner purchased the vessel in 2014 as a research project for conversion to a liveaboard, but was unable to find out further information about the builder or date of construction. Now under new ownership as of 2025.
