History

CEPHEUS is a narrow boat of iron plate construction with a Lister HA2 diesel engine. She was built in 1935 by Harland and Wolff in Woolwich. The vessel was a British Waterways general cargo carrier and later in private ownership was used as a cable carrier to lay fibre optic cables between London and Birmingham. She was restored to full carrying standard. CEPHEUS is painted in British Waterways 1950s blue and yellow livery and attends historic boating events on a regular basis.
