History
OSTARA is a bermudan sloop of timber carvel construction, with mahogany on oak frames, built by Curtis & Pape of Looe in 1951. She has an inboard diesel engine of 35 hp by Yanmar which was installed in 1982. The vessel had major restorations in 1982, 1990 and 2000 and is now in excellent working order. She is believed to be the only West Briton shoal draft cruiser to have been built and was designed for and won the Yachting World shoal draft cruiser design competition in 1949.
