History

Built in 1959 by Blacktofts of Stainforth, Doncaster, VALIANT is a barge of steel plate construction with a Lister HA3 diesel engine which is currently removed from the barge. She was built for carrying bulk loads such as coal grain and steel on the South Yorkshire Navigation through to the ports of the Humber. She was part of a large fleet of barges owned by Waddingtons of Swinton and was in service until 2002.

Update March 2020: Reported by member of public now located in Loch Oich, nr Invergarry, Highlands.
