History

Built in 1935 by Yarwoods of Northwich, SCORPIO is a narrow boat of steel construction with a Lister HA2 diesel engine. The boat was built as one of a pair (sister ship MALUS) for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company and used mainly on the London to Birmingham route. After commercial carrying ceased in 1963 she passed to the British Waterways maintenance fleet for use on the Midland canals. Rebuilt by Brinklow Boats in 2005, she now attends events throughout the Midlands.

Scorpio is one of the HWBG fleet and, these days, is paired with butty Leo.
