History
TRICIA is a wooden pleasure yacht, built by Clapson & Sons at Barton on Humber in 1938. Records show that she was requisitioned by the Ministry of War Transport in June 1940 for use in the Auxiliary Patrol, which functioned to cruise off the coast to give warning of the approach of any invasion fleet.
In November 1941, as the possibility of invasion receded, the TRICIA was converted into a kite balloon vessel, based at Middlesborough and formed part of the local anti-aircraft's defence of coastal convoys passing through the local control area.
TRICIA continued on these duties until April 1945 when she was renamed PARAGON and converted to a harbour service launch at Middlesborough, carrying out her new duties until November 1945, when she was laid up in reserve.
In March 1946, TRICIA was sold - believed to her former owner - and reverted back to her original name.
