The Steam Tug Cervia Preservation Trust has launched a new crowdfunder.

One of the problems that volunteers have encountered during the past year is the lack of a suitable covered outside space to operate their sales and awareness facility from - a gazebo just isn't always suitable due to the English climate!

A solution has been found in the form of a former catering trailer that looks more like a tram than a caravan, so will fit in with their heritage theme nicely.  Since there used to be trams in Thanet running by the harbour, the tram will be finished in the appropriate livery.

This facility will also of course enable volunteers to attend outside events as well as have it adjacent to Cervia.  Being on wheels means they don't require planning permission to locate it on their jetty.  The tram requires a repaint, interior fit out, plus collecting from Christchurch in Dorset. Can you help?

The purchase price is £4000 plus an estimate of a further £1000 to make it operational.  Could anyone collect it or tow it to Ramsgate?

The Trust are confident that it will pay for itself over the coming year, even a suitable loan would assist them to provide this badly needed facility.
