In our well-equipped workshop you will be guided by our expert staff through the process of:
- Selecting timber,
- Choosing a standard design to a size specific to your needs (Ottertail, Beavertail, Sugar Island etc.); you can even design your own paddle shape,
- Marking and shaping the blade, shaft and grip using traditional hand woodworking tools,
- Sanding the paddle to provide a very tactile, ergonomic end-product,
- Applying a suitable finish to protect the paddle when in use.
What will be provided:
- Timber for the paddle,
- All tools/equipment needed,
- PPE – gloves, dust mask
- Full tuition provided by our experienced staff, with timely and relevant feedback
- Refreshments available throughout the day.
