Want to experience boat building but can’t commit to a full course?
Our Boatbuilding Experience Day is the perfect option for you!
Packed with hands-on exercises, demonstrations and talks.
You will have the chance to
- steam bend oak to make bent timber ring
- fasten the ring with a copper nail and rove
- make a mobile phone stand using dovetail joinery
- try your hand at caulking
- try out some interesting knots and make a keyring to take home with you
- plus a tour of our boat shed
Day starts at 09:30 and ends at approximately 16:30
A fish and chip lunch is provided along with tea and coffee throughout the day. (Vegetarian/Vegan options available on request)
Suitable for ages 14 year to no limit. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult over 18.
Most of the boatshed is accessible for wheelchairs.
