Mary Rose celebrates 25th anniversary, October 2007

Thursday 11 October 2007 marks the 25th anniversary of the lifting of the Mary Rose. To mark this occasion, the Trust is hosting a series of events highlighting the importance of the Mary Rose. This programme will celebrate our successes and look at the contributions the excavation and lifting of the Mary Rose has made to enhance our understanding of the past through the physical evidence provided by the ship and contents, but also how the project has contributed to the practical aspects of marine archaeology and maritime history.

The programme will include a lecture series between 10–12 October to be held within Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. In addition to lectures, several evening receptions are programmed. Speakers include Mary Rose Trust staff (past and present) together with eminent historians and archaeologists.
