Advisory Committee on National Historic Ships - Scottish Member post

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport seeks a suitably qualified person to appoint as Scottish member of the Advisory Committee on National Historic Ships which will advise Government on historic ships and raise public awareness of their significant contribution to our cultural and maritime heritage .

The Advisory Committee takes over, from the National Historic Ships Committee, the maintenance and development of the National Register of Historic Vessels and the development and monitoring of an 'At Risk' register.

The Scottish Executive will be conducting the appointment process, and submitting a recommendation to DCMS ministers.

For the Scottish Committee member post, applications are invited from people with knowledge of the issues affecting historic ships in Scotland combined with experience in some or all of the following:- the ownership, conservation, restoration, and preservation of historic ships, as well as documentation, recording techniques, education, and interpretation opportunities offered by historic vessels
