History
Built 1904 at Newport by T Cox, MASCOTTE is the largest Newport cutter, the third largest Bristol Channel pilot cutter ever build and the largest surviving pilot cutter. She worked from 1904 to 1915 when steam cutters took over. She was then converted to a yacht and had a series of owners. Rebuilt by Paul Kennard, Rye 1980-7 she was refurbished by T Nielson, Gloucester in 1994/5.
MASCOTTE has subsequently been used for film and charter work and is fully MCA coded. She has a mahogany panelled interior and nine berths. She is powered by hydraulic drive to twin maxprops. 2007 saw her up for sale.
