History

ENDEAVOUR is a narrow boat or station boat, believed to have been built for the Great Western Railway at Swindon in 1908. Her hull is largely riveted and made of iron, with a pointed bow and a counter stern. Her current engine is a BMC 2.2, with four cylinders and 44 horsepower. A new counter stern was welded on in the 1960s.

It is believed that ENDEAVOUR was shortened from a 70 foot boat following conversion in the 1950s. Cabins made from galvanized steel have been built. Interior fittings are generally in a 1960s style, including the gas cooker.
