History

PAULINE, formerly Aire and Calder Navigation Flyboat no. 27, was built at Goole in 1869. She was sold by the Aire and Calder Navigation Co. to J. Wilby in 1947 and she was motorised three years later. Around 1958 she was taken to Manchester docks and used as a painting platform/paint store. Her current owners bought her in 1975 and in 1987 converted her to a houseboat.

These brief histories are compiled from details supplied by vessel owners and enthusiasts and from various reference works. National Historic Ships would be grateful for any corrections of facts or additional information for inclusion. Please contact ron.ellis@nationalhistoricships.org.uk
