History

CORRIE was designed by William Fife and built by Robertsons at Sandbanks in 1908 for W. C. Collins and raced very successfully in Clyde 30 class. She later continued to race in the 8 metre class on the Clyde. Her rig altered from gaff to sloop around 1910. She was bought by her current owner in 1947 and brought to the south coast. An inboard engine was installed in 1998. The decks are sheathed in GRP to replace canvas.

These brief histories are compiled from details supplied by vessel owners and enthusiasts and from various reference works. National Historic Ships would be grateful for any corrections of facts or additional information for inclusion. Please contact ron.ellis@nationalhistoricships.org.uk
