About us

Roy Marsden

Roy Marsden I joined the RAF as a Russian Linguist and then stayed on to become a Navigator on transport aircraft in the days before GPS when 'man was not lost, merely uncertain of his position'. Apart from flying tours, I did various ground tours in intelligence including one with the Army in the Commanders-in-Chief Military Mission to the Soviet Forces in East Germany.

My only involvment with the shipping world was during a tour at the MOD when I was appointed to a Naval desk where I had to offer advice to a number of shipping companies about events in the Persian Gulf.

I then joined the CAA where I became an Aerodrome Inspector. This involved assessing all aspects of aerodrome operations and as I worked for International Services most of the aerodromes were in the Caribbean in UK Overseas Territories.

Whilst I was in Singapore I took up the Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do which I still practice and I teach older people who do not wish to be shown up by their offspring!!
